1932 - Storm damage

On the evening of 16 June 1932, a storm blew through the Bay of Plenty. It caused considerable damage to the stock and plant of the Power Board following the unroofing of the board’s premises on Commerce Street, Whakatāne.

The Power Boards neighbour – the Empire Boarding House claimed the sum of £13-10-0 from the board for damage caused when beams from the roof of the power board building went through their roof.

The board rejected the claim.
