1930 - New Tariff Agreed

In 1930, the Ōpōtiki Dairy Factory was in negotiations with the board regarding its power supply.

After reviewing the factory load, as well as the working hours of the various sections of the plant, the board agreed to run the freezing section during night hours off-peak, subject to a special tariff.

The tariff was agreed to be £3-0-0 per kVA between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am. It was estimated that the usage would be around £620 per annum, which supported a minimum annual charge for the nightly rate of £100.
