1925 - New railway bridge Taneatua

In June 1925 at the opening of the new railway bridge at Taneatua in June 1925 permission for the extension of the Whakatāne Borough council’s electrical lines into the County was given by local Member of Parliament, F Hockly.

This allowed the Borough to supply current to the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company factory at Edgecumbe.
