2020 - Covid control

Covid 19 cases begin to emerge worldwide and by 4 March 2020, a second case was reported in New Zealand. The WHO organisation declares Covid as an official pandemic. New Zealand closes its border on 19 March and announced a nationwide lockdown on 25 March.

As an essential services business, Horizon Networks needed to act fast. Over a period of a week, the Company had established the relevant protocols to not only keep our staff, but the general public safe during faults and emergencies. The Company’s contracting division was split into teams (“working bubbles”) to minimise the risk of the virus transmitting. Only work that could be undertaken outdoors and in well-ventilated spaces was scheduled to be undertaken until further notice.
