1965 - 79 poles installed
With the co-operation of the land owners in the Waioeka Gorge, 79 poles were installed in 1965. With 22 hours and 54 minutes of flying time 36 poles were installed and 16 miles of line was completed. On average it took just over 2 ΒΌ minutes to lift a pole, transport the pole quarter of a mile, lower it into position and return to the pole dump.
